Re: Intel Smart Response Technology without Accelerate Tab?

Hi Diego_Intel,

I think you mentioned everything so far but you left out that Intel Smart Response Technology is the source of the problem. What are the reasons that the Acceleration button does not show up?

As I mentioned in the thread already, I install Windows 7 using the AHCI setting for the HDD. Will reinstalling the OS using the RAID setting make a difference with the Accelerate button?

Should the Intel RST Option ROM Utility see any disk as a RAID for SRT to show the Accelerate button? At this time all disk show up as "non-RAID" disk. Should I remove all disk, but the OS disk, and use the Option ROM Utility to make the lone OS drive a RAID (I know 2 or more disk required for RAID) but I must ask is the Utility capable of setting a lone disk as RAID disk. As you know (2 or more) disks are not required for SRT but the RAID feature is enabled at the time the OS is installed.

Will using the ROM Utility wipe the OS from the disk? RST provides the option to  create a RAID disk should I use that instead to preserve the Windows 7 OS installation?

I have a hunch that Intel RST does not acknowledge or see the HDD as RAID therefore the Accelerate button does not appear.
