I found something interesting today
While using 12.9 AIDA reports this:
But after upgrading to 13.1 it's not disabled anymore, it turns "Enabled" there, and maybe that's why I'm hearing more clicks from the disk, because APM is now working and uses head parking every now and then.
The question is:
how is APM supposed to stay, enabled or disabled?
or in other words:
was it a 12.9 bug or a 13.1 one?
But I'm pretty sure something has changed in the way the driver enables/disables APM on supported devices.
EDIT: I double checked with another software, just to be sure.
Crystal disk info says APM is disabled with the slider all the way left while using 12.9
After 13.1 update APM is reported to be enabled (OFF->ON) and the slider goes in the the middle
