Even though WiFi and Bluetooth* are designed to coexist in the 2.4 GHz band, the main cause of the issue could be related to interference; however, there are different causes for interference besides your WiFi connection.

Please consider the following suggestions.

  • Relocate or turn off other wireless devices that can cause interference, such as: microwave ovens, wireless phones, and cell phones with Bluetooth* or WiFi activated.
  • Keep the Bluetooth* device in short distance with clear line of sight of the computer. Solid objects may also cause interference.
  • Optimize your wireless router placement; an elevated location in the center of the area with direct line of sight access would be the best.
  • Change the WiFi channel in your router to a less crowded one. Some software tools such as InSSIDer* or WifiInfoView* can be used for monitoring activity. If you have a dual band network (wireless adapter and router) try using 5 GHz instead.
